JOHN OGILVIE, founder and director of Byron
Yoga, has been teaching yoga for over eighteen years and leads the
Byron Yoga Centre teacher training courses. He encourages a light
heartedness in our approach to yoga and to ourselves. John teaches regular classes as part of the regular Byron Yoga weekly timetable. His classes
are both challenging and dynamic, and integrate the different yoga
styles of Iyengar and Astanga, as well as the softer Sivananda and
Satyananda practices of yoga and the energy principles of Aikido.

CONSTA GEORGOUSSIS, started with Astanga Yoga in
Byron Bay more than 10 years ago. His main aim in teaching is to help
students develop consistent self-practise that is guided by gentleness
and awareness of their own needs and rhythms, so that they may realise
their inner light. Consta has extensive experience with
instructing yoga teacher training courses.

JUDY KRUPP, is a senior certified
Teacher who has been practising yoga for twenty-three years and has
studied Iyengar Yoga in Sydney. She has extensive experience with
instructing yoga courses. The style of yoga taught by Judy Krupp
incorporates work from the Iyengar principles of alignment and the
therapeutic potential of asanas, combined with vinyasa flow work from
the Astanga practice and the viniyoga philosophy of T.K.V. Desikachar.

STEPHAN KAHLERT is a trained psychologist with over twenty
years experience as a yoga and meditation practitioner. He has
facilitated many international corporate workshops and seminars on
stress management and travels regularly to India to deepen his
practice. Stephan sees meditation as a scientific approach in the mind
as well as a deep relaxing in the present moment. His teaching style on the teacher training courses is
both engaging and fun.

KARA GOODSELL, is a senior
certified teacher and has been trained in dynamic Vinyasa flow style
Hatha Yoga by John Ogilvie from the Byron Yoga Centre, as well as
regularly attending yoga workshops by other senior teachers. She has
been teaching beginners, general and intermediate classes for 2 ½ years
after her 4 year apprenticeship with John.
Kara explores yoga asana,
pranayama (breathing techniques) and Dhyana (meditation) in a safe and
joyful class, offering students the opportunity to deepen their
awareness and practice with integrity and fun. She is constantly
updating her skills and expanding her yoga teaching experience. Kara is part of the teacher training staff and also teaches a general class as part of the weekly Byron Yoga timetable.

DAVINA KRUSE is a senior certified yoga teacher trained by
John Ogilvie at Byron Yoga Centre. Davina has been practicing yoga for
over 10 years practicing both in Australia and overseas. Davina has
experience in Ashtanga, Iyengar and Hatha styles of yoga. Davina’s
classes are gentle Hatha yoga with a focus on breath awareness.
Davina
uses the breath to allow her students to go deeper in to the asana.
Exploring the practice of the spiritual principals of yoga in her daily
life and affairs Davina hopes to pass this on to her students. Davina’s
passion is to bring her students deeper into their own self practice
and to pass on her love of yoga. Davina is an assistant on the Yoga
Teacher Training courses and also teaches general classes as part of the weekly Byron Yoga timetable.

ANNE-MARIE EDDINGTON, has been
practicing yoga for the last 14 years. She apprenticed as a teacher
with Simon Borg-Olivier and Bianca Machliss at their yoga school in
Sydney and then taught full-time at Yoga Synergy in Bondi Junction for
6 years. During this time she continued to partake in yoga and
workshops study alternative therapies such as Remedial, Deep Tissue,
Chinese and Swedish massage, Shiatsu, Macrobiotics, Cranio-sacral
therapy and pilates, Ayurveda and panchakarma. In 2005
Anne-Marie started teaching at the Byron Yoga Centre. Her classes are a
conglomeration of many different styles of yoga including
Ashtanga-Vinyasa, Hatha, Iyengar and Synergy style yoga. Her teaching
is both flowing and dynamic focusing on body alignment, internal
muscular control (bandhas), energy flow, breath, concentration and
meditation. Anne-Marie teaches general classes as part of the weekly Byron Yoga timetable.

BETTINA trained 20 years ago as a fitness and Pilates
instructor and teaches yoga since 1997. She completed 4 different yoga
teacher trainings ( Iyengar, Shivananda, Byron Yoga ) with two
trainings being in India. She travels yearly to India to deepen her
spiritual and yogic lifestyle, where she just produced her own yoga
nidra cd.
Bettina has been on the yogic path for 25 years and her
emphasis is in moving through strong asanas to the quiet still point
within! With her husband who is a meditation teacher she travels the
world trying to embody the essence of yoga. She teaches general classes as part of the weekly Byron Yoga timetable.

DANIELLE SHERLOCK is a Naturopath and Remedial Sports
Therapist. Her experience of yoga spans 14 years, traditionally trained
in Iyengar. Spending some time in Sri Lanka practicing and working with
TCM in Columbo Hospital, Danielle’s teaching incorporates a well
rounded approach to assist your awakening into a deeper experience of
yoga. Danielle is passionate about chanting and meditation and teaches
Anatomy and Physiology on the Yoga Teacher Trainer courses. She also teaches a general class as part of the weekly Byron Yoga timetable.

| CLARE PRIESTLEY,
“Yoga is my life and my life is Yoga.” Clare has been teaching Hatha
yoga for three years, centering on strengthening the core, standing
poses, strength and flexibility. She teaches at all levels. She has conducted Teacher Training courses with Yoga Arts and teaches general classes as part of the weekly Byron Yoga timetable. |

MICHAEL NAZAR is a senior certified teacher
completing his training with John Ogilvie at Byron Yoga Centre. Michael
teaches a Dynamic Vinyasa Flow style class and uses his background as a
fitness leader and Remedial Massage and Sports Injury Therapist to
guide his class.
Michael has a deep interest in the Philosophical
aspect of yoga and incorporates Pranayama and Meditation into his
teachings. Michael continues to further his studies into the 8 limbs of
yoga with a special focus on Pranayama. Michael is an assistant on the
Yoga Teacher Training courses and also teaches general classes as part of the weekly Byron Yoga timetable.

MARIA KIRSTEN is a senior Yoga teacher with many years experience
teaching on several different Yoga Teacher Trainer courses, she covers
applied Anatomy and Physiology within the asanas.

JACINTA MCEWAN has been practicing the healing arts for over twenty years. Initially trained as a nurse in the Royal Adelaide Hospital, she went on to become a naturopath, herbalist, massage therapist, yoga teacher and Ayurvedic practitioner. Jacinta teaches Ayurvedic principles on the yoga teacher training courses.

EMI is a certified yoga teacher. She has been constantly
exposed to many great teachers from various backgrounds and traditions
in Australia, Bali and Japan. With an emphasis on therapeutic yoga, Emi
invites you to go deeper into asana on a journey through body, mind and
spirit. She teaches general classes as part of the weekly Byron Yoga timetable, these classes generally include asana, followed by pranayama and
meditation.
