Experience makes the difference

Byron Yoga Centre Teacher Training Course:

Byron Yoga Centre’s part time Non-Residential Auckland Teacher Training Course is a complete experience with 6 weekends over 6 months.

The course includes training by Australia’s leading yoga training academy with some of the world’s most experienced trainers.

Established in 1988 by John Ogilvie, Byron Yoga Centre is one of the longest running yoga schools in Australia.

When you make the pivotal decision to embark on yoga teacher training, you know you’re in safe hands with Byron Yoga Centre. As one of the longest running yoga schools in Australia, as well as one of the few yoga teacher training organisations that operate as an RTO (Registered Training Organisation), offering the highest possible qualification in yoga teaching, you can feel confident you’ve chosen the best.

Byron Yoga Centre is now bringing our Level 1 Part Time course option to Auckland, New Zealand.

We have enhanced our mentoring program to increase your face-to-face hours and personal training.

The exact same curriculum will be delivered, as well the opportunity to enhance your training both during and after the weekend course via a mentoring program that would include

  • Attending special workshops conducted by senior Byron Yoga staff
  • Assisting senior Byron Yoga staff in general classes by carrying out adjustments and corrections as well as teaching parts of the class under direct supervision
  • Receiving one-on-one personal training by senior Byron Yoga staff to help you with your individual needs

In summary, there is the option to do an additional 20 to 40 hours (making a total of 220 to 240 hours).
There will be regular one day workshops for trainees who have attended any of our Level 1 Teacher Trainings. We will email the details to all the trainees on our data base so they can attend. These hours can go towards your face-to-face hours for Yoga Alliance compliancy. These workshops will usually be held on a monthly basis.

John Ogilvie  is the founder and director of Byron Yoga Centre. John has been teaching yoga for over twenty years. He encourages a light heartedness in our approach to yoga and to ourselves.

Teaching yoga consists of more than simply the skills required to perform asanas correctly or knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ultimately, the path to teaching yoga with awareness and understanding involves deepening your own practice.
