Inner River"  Transformational Thai Massage Workshop

Thusday 15 January, 10am – 5pm

Step into a place of stillness.

Open your heart and mind to the power of compassionate touch,

to the healing rhythm of Transformational Thai Massage.

Join Kat Dancer, internationally renowned teacher of Thai massage, for a unique Thai Massage workshop. Learn to use your body in new ways, harnessing the power of thousands of teachers across the centuries.
Workshop Content
Kat will demonstrate and coach in the nurturing and healing techniques of Nuad Borarn, as taught in Chiang Mai, where many of the greatest Thai teachers are found. On completion of this workshop students should be able to share a basic massage with friends and will have a solid foundation for further study of Thai Massage.
The practical format follows a pattern of talk and demonstration followed by practice on each other and also with Kat. Techniques will include Palming, Thumb Pressure, Stretches, Rocking, Sitting and transitions from one position to another.
To fully understand the enormous range of techniques on a professional basis, serious students should study for a minimum of 500 hours. Certification in each country varies, but this workshop will be recognised as part of formal study by THAI (Thai Healing Alliance international).
Kat Dancer
Kat is an approved instructor with THAI (Thai Healing Alliance International), the only global non-partisan organisation devoted to the preservation and education of Traditional Thai Massage around the world. Kat has been a practitioner for over ten years and travels the world sharing the gift of Thai massage and leading yoga workshops in dozens of countries. Kat maintains a thriving practice in western Canada to which she returns on an annual basis.
This introduction to Nuad Borarn is an opportunity to share the pure joy of the physical manifestation of metta (compassionate care) through Thai Massage.

Melbourne & Geelong Weekend of Workshops

With John Ogilvie, Byron Yoga Centre

Friday 24 October 6pm – 7.30pm

Dynamic Flow Purna Yoga

With over 25 years teaching experience, John Ogilvie’s Purna Yoga classes combine the different styles of Iyengar and Ashtanga along with the energy principles of Aikido.

Purna Yoga is alignment based classic hatha yoga and for this dynamic workshop John will flow through Level 3 asana, offering options for the less experienced and a few ‘ridiculous’ variations to challenge the advance practitioners!

Saturday 25 October

Workshop 1: 11.30am-1pm Introduction to Purna Yoga (FULL)

Workshop 2: 1.30pm-3pm Inversions and backbends (ONLY 4 places left)

With the first two workshops almost booked out already, we are pleased to announce a third session with John Ogilvie. This workshop will focus on a whole variety of twists plus some deep hip openers. The perfect counter session to the backbends of the previous workshop. Participants will also be taken through some pranayama and meditation to complete and integrate the Purna Yoga experience.

There are only 24 spaces at each session so you can expect a focus on one-on-one adjustments and corrections. There are still a few places available in the Inversions and Backbends workshop, 1.30pm to 3pm but limited places so book now!

In the first workshop students will be taken through a Purna Yoga sequence. The focus is on alignment with intelligent sequencing and variations are given for different levels of practitioner.

The second session will progress from preparation handstand to experimenting with more challenging inversions. The workshop will then move onto the major backbends to fully awaken the spine. You’ll be challenged - and surprised at the outcome!
