Course Description

Restorative yoga can be used for so many conditions and contexts ranging from post-operative to women’s health to a number of stress-related conditions such as Adrenal Fatigue and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

This 2-day intensive training introduces you to the art and practice of Restorative Yoga. You will emerge from this course with an invaluable new tool in your yoga-therapy ‘tool box’.

We will cover:

  • Benefits of Restorative Yoga and specific postures
  • Practice of key Restorative Yoga Postures, and variations of popular postures
  • Sequencing of Restorative Yoga  – to create special Restorative Practices for various student needs
  • Integration of Restorative Yoga in your General Class
  • Teaching Practice

Byron Bay Course Facilitator

Star Despres is a devoted yogini, practising since she was 19 and teaching since 2006. She is a Senior Byron Yoga Centre qualified Teacher and Teacher Trainer, has been facilitating Bliss Baby Yoga Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training courses since 2010.

Star’s passions rest in inspiring and empowering women to reconnect with the divine feminine, no matter what stage of life they are in, and assisting them to find a more nurturing approach to life. She especially loves to support women through pregnancy, the postnatal period and times of exhaustion and depletion via the practise of Restorative Yoga and daily self care rituals. She is also the founder of Divine Staran Online sanctuary for women to reconnect to their authentic selves.

Her greatest role is as a mama of 2 daughters (17 years apart), and continues to fine tune the balance of work and Mamahood whilst also honouring her own needs.

Accreditation

Attendance at this two-day training provides ongoing Professional Development hours / points for Yoga Australia & Yoga Alliance members.

Members of both Yoga Alliance and Yoga Australia are required to complete ongoing professional development to keep their membership current.

Registrants of our two-day Level 1 Restorative Yoga Teacher Training will receive a Completion Certificate and will be able to use the course hours to accrue these necessary professional development hours.

Course Pre-requisites

This course is open to male and female yoga teachers, yoga teacher trainees, yoga therapists, or those working in a related health field. Preferably, students will have 6 months to 1 year prior yoga practice experience.

This specialised 2 day training will be held at Byron Yoga Retreat Centre, Byron Bay. This eco-friendly retreat and training centre is about a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from the town centre and beaches.
