Byron Bay is known internationally as a surfing destination and as a hub for yogis. Byron Yoga Centre has designed a retreat program to offer you the chance to experience both!

This is the ideal retreat for couples and for anyone wanting to combine yoga and surfing. It’s suitable for beginners and for those who are experienced at surfing and yoga. You can choose from any of our 3, 5 or 8 day Health and Yoga retreats and just add surf lessons into your program (time and availability subject to tide and weather conditions, refunds provided if surfing is cancelled.)

If you have never surfed before this is a great chance to give it a go under the guidance of our expert instructors. If you are new to yoga, our teachers will modify poses and offer variations for all levels. For the experienced surfers and yogis – you will love the chance to focus on your passions while staying at the tranquil Byron Yoga Retreat Centre.

Here is an example for if you book the 3 day retreat: Enjoy the 3 day program of yoga and wellness sessions, benefit from healthy vegetarian food and take time out to relax by the heated mineral salt swimming pool. Then book your surf lessons which will be incorporated into your program subject to tide and weather conditions. This weekend retreat offers the best of both sides of Byron Bay!

Retreat Program

The program of the Surf and Yoga Retreat will run parallel to our Health and Yoga Retreats. The groups will come together to start the day with a general yoga and meditation session (suitable for all levels) or a sunrise beach walk to take pleasure in experiencing the first rays of sun on the Australian mainland. Your surf lesson each day will either be in the morning or afternoon depending on tides and weather as we want you to have the best experience possible! You will then be together with Health and Yoga group for either the morning or afternoon yoga class and also the evening meditation session. All sessions are optional to allow you to tailor to your needs.

As a participant in the Health and Yoga Retreat your massage treatments included in your package will be arranged around your surfing. (For the 3 day retreat the best option could be on the Friday of your arrival). There is always the option for extra treatments at additional cost.
