Retreat Description

Mark the mid-point of the year, the passing of the solstice and escape the winter blues with this special mid year retreat. The 8 day program is designed specifically to boost your immune system and to enhance wellness and vitality. You will be encouraged to set clear intentions for the second half of 2015 and supported in choosing the path to your highest self through a unique combination of yoga, meditation, pranayama and spa treatments plus teachings on nutrition, wellness and Ayurveda. This retreat also features a specially designed menu of seasonal food and juices to boost your immune system and kick start your healthy habits. Much of the produce is grown in the retreat centre’s organic garden so the food simply bursts with freshness and goodness.

The retreat program is designed to help you to develop an overall wellness program, which you can integrate into your life. We’ll teach you practical approaches to common issues such as stress and weight management through healthy eating and a yoga program which includes not just the physical postures but breathing, meditation and special relaxation techniques.

Our Mid year health boost retreat includes additional activities such as:

  • Post winter solstice ceremony: welcoming the longer day, bringing light to your life and setting intentions for the remainder of the year

New to yoga or an experience yogi? Our retreats are suitable for people of all levels of yoga experience from beginners right through to long time yogis. And the Variations of poses are offered and there is always the option to rest if necessary.

The Venue

Stay in comfortable, clean share rooms with everything on site: accommodation, yoga studios, dining areas and a heated 20m mineral salt water pool. Organic vegetable gardens supply our kitchen. The Byron Bay Retreat Centre is located within easy walking / cycling from the centre of Byron and the beaches.

The accommodation is clean and simple, with shared rooms and access to all amenities. Retreat guests in residence are expected to be cigarette, drug and alcohol free and are asked to maintain silence (where practical) in the mornings before 9am and after 9.30pm and at ALL times in the rooms. We also ask everyone in residence to be vegetarian on site.


Our nutritionally balanced menu, combined with yoga, will naturally detox the body leaving you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The special diet is based on nutrient-rich foods, which will help to detoxify the body while giving you energy. Through diet, yoga, meditation & breathing techniques we will give you the tools required to naturally regulate the hormones in the body and reduce strain on the adrenal system.

The menu is nutritionally balanced and prepared according to the sattvic principles of the delicious vegetarian food served at Byron Yoga. The dining area is a beautiful light filled space to enjoy socialising over delicious cuisine. Please advise if you have any particular dietary restrictions when you book your place on the retreat.



A highlight of your stay will be the luxurious, relaxing and cleansing treatments. All you need to do here is lay back and relax, while the therapists work their magic amongst the lush tropical gardens.
Three massage treatments are included in your retreat, including full body massage, reflexology, shiatsu massage, Ayurvedic massage, cranio-sacral therapy.


The schedule is flexible and planned to maximise your experience of wellness & yoga whilst allowing free time to explore the surrounding area and engage with the local culture.

Byron Bay – General Information


Cape Byron is Australia’s most easterly point, located on the North Coast of New South Wales. With its numerous beaches, unspoilt hinterland, and relaxed lifestyle, Byron Bay is a popular tourist destination. It is also a place where artists, musicians, dancers, writers, surfers, healers and of course yogis express their diversity and individuality.

The town has all major facilities: a hospital, cinema, supermarket, health food stores and great restaurants, as well as a flourishing alternative health industry. Bicycle is the easiest way to get around town and easily organised through Byron Yoga Centre.

The average summer temperature is 21C – 28C, and average winter temperature is 15C – 21C, There are also periods of heavy rainfall, especially in summer. The area has a total annual rainfall of 1734mm.

Byron Shire has a population of close to 30,000, while the town of Byron Bay has a population of about 9,000.

Byron Bay is located just off the Pacific Highway, 800kms north of Sydney, 175kms south of Brisbane. Airports are located in Ballina (30mins south) or Coolangatta (60mins north) and buses and trains arrive regularly.
