Byron Yoga Centre is offering two 50% tuition scholarships for our 12 month 10865NAT Certificate IV in Yoga Teaching in Byron Bay (worth $5,000 each). One scholarship will be awarded to an international student and one to a domestic participant (Australian citizen or permanent resident).

Two scholarships will be awarded for our 12-month course, at our Byron Bay campus, for any of the intakes that start in 2023 (23 Jan, 17 April, 10 July or 2 Oct 2023).
Each scholarship is for 50% of tuition costs and Australian students can apply for Austudy for the 10865NAT Certificate IV while international students can apply for a 1 year Australian Student Visa. One scholarship will be awarded to an international student and one to a domestic participant (Australian citizen or permanent resident).
The scholarships cover 50% of the tuition costs for the training, manuals and e-learning components. You will need to pay the other 50% of tuition ($5,000) and any other expenses such as accommodation, living expenses; plus for overseas students: health insurance and the cost of the student visa).
Applications close 5pm Wednesday 30 November 2022 and the scholarship places will be awarded by 17 December 2022. The Certificate IV is one of the highest yoga teaching qualifications recognised in Australia. Students on the 12-month course attend sessions 3 days per week over 4 terms of 10 weeks each. International participants who qualify for the student visa can work for up to 40 hours per fortnight.

Application Details for the Partial Scholarships
Two Partial Tuition Scholarship of 50% of fees worth $5,000 each for the 12 month 10865NAT Certificate IV in Yoga Teaching are on offer. You will need to pay the other 50% of tuition ($5,000) and any living expenses, plus for international students – health cover and visa costs. The $5,000 tuition fees are payable according to the following:
- Once the winner is selected and an offer made, a deposit of AUD$250 (non-refundable) payable upon acceptance of enrolment application form before receiving the COE
- Monthly Payment Plan: $950 x 5 payments, with 1st payment due on the first day of term 1 and further payments on the 25thday of each consecutive month (*Payment dates will be on the Letter of Offer)
To apply please email us 400-500 words on why you would like to undertake this 1 year training, how you think you will benefit from it and how you will share the skills and knowledge with your community.
Please include your name, age (you must be over 18), nationality, where you are currently living, your yoga experience (minimum 120 hours of yoga instruction – this can be attending classes or practicing online) and confirm your level of English (minimum IELTS 5.5.).

If you are considering doing the course even if you do not win the scholarship, we suggest you apply and make the payment required for your acceptance. If you are successful in gaining the scholarship we will refund any fees paid to Byron Yoga Centre.
Process
Closing date is Wednesday 30 November 2022.
A short list of finalists will be contacted in early December 2022 and these lucky applicants will have the opportunity to present their essay via Facetime.
The two winners of the scholarships will be selected by 17 December and all applicants will be notified of the winner by the end of December 2022. (Byron Yoga Centre reserves the right not to award the scholarship if there are no suitable applicants).
No correspondence will be entered into in regards to the selection process or individual applications.

The scholarship place can be taken up in any of the intakes that start in 2023 (23 Jan, 17 April, 10 July or 2 Oct 2023) – subject to availability of places at the time of application. The winners must confirm their registration at least 1 month before the start date of the course (subject to visa approval for international students).
International students will need to apply for a 1 year student visa once they have been accepted into the course. Student visas allow up to 40 hours of work per fortnight. No responsibility is taken by Byron Yoga Centre for obtaining the visa. If the student is not granted a visa, the Scholarship will not be awarded.
Australian citizens can apply for Austudy. No responsibility is taken by Byron Yoga Centre for obtaining Austudy. If the student is not granted Austudy and decides not to take the scholarship, it will not be awarded.
Byron Yoga Centre staff and their family members cannot apply for the scholarship.
Existing students can apply and if they are a winner they need only pay a total of $5,000 in fees.
The winners can also choose to stay on for the 2 year 11113NAT Diploma of Advanced Yoga Practices and Teaching that follows on from the Certificate IV. There is no scholarship available for this course but the winners will be offered a discount to reduce the fees for the Diploma to $17,500.
