Graduate Immersion – Teaching Skills Lab – for all Byron Yoga Centre Graduates and Trainees

This special Graduate Immersion is the first one to focus specifically on teaching skills. There is a 3 or 5 day option and participants on the 5 day can also choose to stay on at Byron Yoga Retreat Centre for an additional 1 or 2 nights to relax and enjoy the facilities.

Our Graduate Immersions are a wonderful chance for all our graduates and current trainees to come together to practice, learn and connect. This special August Immersion will focus on imparting skills to enhance your teaching, so it will have a little more substance than the past pre-Christmas retreat style immersions.

It is open to yoga teachers, graduates who are starting their teaching careers and also trainees still working on their correspondence components. You will gain skills, share knowledge and enjoy time at Byron Yoga Retreat Centre.

There are two options – a 3 day or a 5 day program – and they are exceptional value, priced at around 50% of the usual cost of a retreat at Byron Yoga Retreat Centre!

This Teaching Skills Lab is an opportunity to develop your teaching tool kit and deepen your practice with Byron Yoga Centre Senior teachers including John Ogilvie, Davina Kruse, Bec Isaacs and Maria Kirsten.

You will enjoy workshops on applied anatomy, philosophy and a range of teaching techniques plus there will be a special sharing session on the Business of Yoga Teaching. You will also have time to relax, the mineral salt swimming pool will be heated and it’s a wonderful time of year for beach walks. A key benefit is the opportunity to share with your peer group and network amongst the Australia-wide and international Purna yoga teacher family.

Graduate Immersion – Teaching Skills Lab – Overview

This immersion is for teachers, graduates and current trainees to add to their tool kits and gain professional development (CPD hours can be used for Yoga Alliance annual requirements). Sessions will be structured to be beneficial to all levels, from experienced yoga teachers to those looking to build more confidence early on their teaching path. Current trainees will gain valuable insights from interaction with more established teachers and can use the hours towards their certifications.

The flexible program includes morning yoga and meditation classes with senior teachers to advance your practice plus workshops to develop your teaching skills. Over the 5 days there will be sessions in yogic philosophy with John Ogilvie, applied anatomy with Maria Kirsten and how to teach meditation in your yoga classes with Davina Kruse. Other interactive sessions will include areas such as adjusting skills, sequencing multi-level classes and marketing & business strategies for yoga teachers. Students will be encouraged to share their own experiences and to learn from each other.

We recommend you book the 5 day option to experience all these amazing workshops!

While our residential teacher trainings are 20 and 12 day intensives, these 5 and 3 day immersions offer participants the chance to upskill in bite size pieces and to move forward on their teaching path. You will have the opportunity to reflect on your personal yoga journey and to enjoy the tranquil Byron Yoga Retreat Centre. The aim is to continue to support you in your yoga journey and to bring our Purna yoga teacher family together.
