Our Byron Yoga Retreat program allows flexibility for you to explore Byron Bay and take part in a range of activities on offer. For those on Residential Teacher Training courses we recommend you extend your stay with us in Byron Bay for a few days before or after your course to enjoy the area, and the yoga.

Explore Byron Bay

With its numerous beaches, unspoilt hinterland, and relaxed lifestyle, Byron Bay is a popular tourist destination. It is also a place where artists, musicians, dancers, writers, surfers, healers and of course yogis express their diversity and individuality.

Our Yoga Retreat guests love spending time at the beach, walking the iconic lighthouse trail, whale or dolphin watching, hanging out in cafes and browsing the unique shops in this funky town known for its alternative and laid back atmosphere. Byron Yoga Centre is conveniently located within walking distance from town. We’ve put together a list of a few of our favourite activities to do in and around  Byron Bay during your stay.

Byron Bay Walking

Byron Bay and surrounds hosts an abundance of walking track options. The Cape Byron walking track is within walking distance from Byron Yoga Centre.

We also have bikes available for hire during your stay so you can explore a little further along the coast including the Three Sisters Track in the beautiful Broken Head Nature Reserve.

If you have a car with you, we recommend heading slightly inland to explore the many waterfalls, rainforest and bush walks in the Byron Bay hinterland.

Byron Bay Whale Watching

Cape Byron is Australia’s most easterly point, located on the North Coast of New South Wales. This makes Byron Bay the perfect place to experience the migration of whales. Whale watching season is from June to October, and you can usually catch a glimpse of the magnificent creatures from the Cape Byron lookout.

However, if you would like a closer look, we recommend booking on a Whale Watching Tour during your Yoga Retreat with our friends at Byron Whale Watching.

Byron Bay Kayaking

All year round, the Byron Bay coastline is also home to local pods of bottle nose dolphins. You can often spot these from the shore, however to see some up close and personal, we recommend booking a Byron Bay Kayak Tour during your stay with us at Byron Yoga Retreat Centre.

We can organise this for you! Simply tick the optional extra when booking your Yoga Retreat.

Crystal Castle

A must do during your Yoga Retreat is a visit to the Crystal Castle and Shambhala Gardens. Find your bliss with meditations, wander the ancient labyrinth, connect with nature on the Damanhur Spiral, and rejuvenate with a reflexology walk.

If you have a car with you, book your tickets here and explore the Crystal Castle at your leisure. Otherwise we can organise a return shuttle tour from Byron Yoga Centre. Simple tick the Crystal Castle optional extra option when booking your Yoga Retreat.

It’s not a trip to Byron Bay without exploring the local Farmers and Community markets.
