Women’s Yoga Retreat

Do you remember her?

The woman who used to laugh more easily.

Who wasn’t always rushing.

Who had space to think.
To feel.
To just be.

She’s still in there.

She hasn’t disappeared beneath the to-do lists, the work emails, the caring-for-everyone-else and the constant noise.

She’s just been waiting for a little room. She’s been waiting for a Women’s Retreat.

Come back to yourself.

Designed by yoga teacher and author Tabata Ogilvie Villares, our Women’s Retreats offer three days to step away from the demands of everyday life and reconnect with yourself.

Each retreat is shaped around the seasons and the natural rhythms of life, creating space to reflect on what you might be ready to let go of, what you want to welcome in, and what you need more of at this stage of your journey.

Through yoga, meditation, women’s wellness sessions, sharing circles, seasonal practices and time in nature, you’ll be encouraged to slow down, listen to yourself and reconnect with your own energy.

Modern life can leave us stretched between work, family, caring responsibilities and the many roles we carry. These retreats offer an opportunity to pause, reconnect and explore what it means to care for yourself, too.

Come on your own and connect with a supportive group of women, or share the experience with your mum, daughter, sister or friend. ❤

Women’s Life Cycles.

Our Women’s Retreats explore the connection between women’s cycles, hormones, energy and wellbeing. Through yoga, meditation, women’s wellness sessions and shared experiences, you’ll have space to better understand your changing needs and find practices that support you through different stages of life.

Hormones, energy and women’s cycles

Explore the changing rhythms of a woman’s life, from menstrual cycles to the transitions of perimenopause and menopause. Through Tabata’s Women’s Cycles workshop and a range of yoga practices, we explore how movement, rest and awareness can support us through these changes.

The nervous system and deep rest

Modern life often leaves us feeling like we need to keep pushing, regardless of how we feel. Restorative yoga, Yin, Yoga Nidra, sound healing and meditation invite you to slow down, settle your nervous system and reconnect with yourself.

Connecting with the seasons

Held around the equinoxes and solstices, our retreats draw inspiration from the changing seasons of nature. Just as the world moves through periods of growth, change and rest, we do too. These seasonal gatherings offer an opportunity to reflect on where you are in life, what you need right now and what you’re ready to welcome next.

You don’t have to be the same woman in every season. This is a space to honour where you are, without needing to push through or have everything figured out.

Stories from the Heart

Meet your Hosts

Our experienced Byron Yoga Centre team is here to support your journey with warmth and integrity. With decades of experience and a genuine love for what we do, our teachers guide you with compassion and presence.

"We're not here to fix you. You're not broken. We're simply here to hold space while you return to your wholeness."

Tabata has been practicing yoga for 15 years and loves to combine Yoga with Astrology to bring the stars to each class. Her passion is women’s health and teaching yoga according to the moon cycle. She hosts the Sacred Women’s Retreats at Byron Yoga Retreat Centre.

In 2010 she began a self-discovery adventure leaving Brazil for Findhorn in Scotland. She then moved to Totnes in the UK for a Masters Degree and learnt more about yoga, meditation and astrology, also travelling to several spiritual and sustainable communities on different continents.

Back in Brazil in 2013 Tabata lived at a Tantric Ashram studying Biopsychology and Tantra. From that moment on her yoga teaching started to develop and she found her personal style of teaching – the combination of her passions: Yoga and Astrology.

Tabata has also written an incredible book ‘Burst Into Bloom’. It will give you an overview of Yoga and Ayurveda, and the interconnection between these disciplines and a woman’s cycles. Tabata shares her life experience, transformations to realise her full potential and her true path in serving women in the journey to go beyond what we reflect in the mirror to find our PURPOSE in life and our inner fulfilment of happiness and bliss.
Includes incredibly empowering topics such as a women’s cycle, hormones, fertility, pregnancy, early pregnancy loss, and menopause. Learn more here.

Aurora is a Teacher Trainer and Retreat Host at Byron Yoga Centre since 2016. Also an Emotional Wellbeing Coach – Aurora is known for her calm and compassionate space holding. In her classes she interweaves slow flow Hatha, Restorative and Yin Yoga styles.

Aurora began practising yoga 20 years ago and spent most of her adult life in the UK as a Trainer, Coach and Event Organiser, and it was here that she became aware of the very real nature of burn out.

This led her to delve deeper into yoga and to study the womb and cycles by which the feminine energies are governed. She shares her personal Shakti journey as co-host with Tabata on our Women’s Retreats, and in her classes.

Aurora hopes to inspire her students to reconnect deeply with themselves, align and shine in their true essence, and make space for what’s truly important – on and off the mat.

Your three-day retreat offers a balance of guided sessions and plenty of time to simply be.

Arrive on Friday afternoon and settle into your room before joining the opening circle at 3pm. You’ll ease into the weekend with a restorative yoga practice, followed by a nourishing vegetarian dinner made with fresh seasonal produce, much of it grown in our organic gardens.

Saturday begins with a gentle Morning Flow yoga class, suitable for all levels, followed by a Women’s Circle exploring the theme of the retreat. Sessions may explore women’s natural cycles, different stages of life, seasonal rhythms, wellbeing and ways to support yourself when life feels full.

The afternoon is yours. Swim in the heated magnesium mineral pool, wander through the gardens, journal, read, enjoy a massage or simply do nothing at all. Later, a Yin yoga practice gives you another opportunity to slow down and let go, followed by an evening practice or ritual connected to the retreat’s seasonal theme.

Sunday is a chance to reflect on what you’re taking from the weekend and consider what you’d like to carry forward. Through yoga, meditation, reflection and wellness practices, you’ll be given simple tools and ideas to continue supporting yourself when you return home.

The retreat comes to a close with a final wellness session and closing circle after lunch, with time to stay onsite and enjoy the peaceful surrounds before heading home.

The yoga is a system we call Purna, a traditional hatha style with an emphasis on correct alignment and intelligent sequencing. Purna translates as complete or whole and this is reflected in the premise that we teach not just the physical postures but also an integrated approach with breath awareness (pranayama), meditation and philosophy. With the Purna system students can work at their own level, options are given for variations and modifications allowing for beginners to practice alongside experienced students.
