Trainer and Assessors

Byron Yoga Centre is looking for experienced yoga teachers to join the team of Trainer and Assessors for our Certificate IV In Yoga Teaching in Byron Bay and Melbourne.

A key requirement is the minimum yoga teaching qualification of a Level 1 200 hour certificate plus a minimum of 2 years yoga teaching experience. Ideally you will have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or be prepared to undertake this qualification. Preference will be given to Byron Yoga Centre trained teachers. 

You will be working on our NAT10865 Certificate IV in Yoga Teaching which runs Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:30pm with each intake running over 2 days per week (Monday & Tuesday or Wednesday & Thursday) in 4 x 10 week terms over the year. 

Most of the participants are international students and have English as a second language. More information regarding the course can be found here.

Skill set required:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thrives in a small team collaborative environment
  • Resilient, positive and flexible attitude to working with a mixed cohort of learners including international students
  • Experience in Trainer and Assessor roles in an RTO preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to complete training documentation in line with organisational policies and procedures to set deadlines

Required Qualifications:

  • 200hr Certificate in Yoga Teaching (minimum)
  • Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or willingness to attain

Resident Exchange Workers

Byron Yoga Retreat Centre offers the opportunity for a small number of volunteers to live onsite as Resident Exchange Workers. These residents work for 20 hours each week in exchange for accomodation and all meals. The meals provided are the same as those prepared for the retreat guests, so are fresh, healthy, delicious, vegetarian food. The exchange work is primarily in housekeeping, cleaning and kitchen shifts but there is also some gardening and general maintenance roles, working within the amazing permaculture gardens and sustainable eco haven.

Applications are open to anyone, but priority for places are given to those who have previously been guests on retreats or participants in our yoga teacher trainings. We require a minimum commitment of 3 months and there is an initial trial period plus a willingness to abide by a yogic code of conduct. This is an alcohol, drug and cigarette free site.
