You can qualify for an Australian student visa & be permitted to work in Australia if you are accepted onto Byron Yoga Centre’s Certificate IV or Diploma courses.

Byron Yoga Centre is a Registered Training Organisation and is approved by the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students – CRICOS. (RTO No. 91522 | CRICOS Provider No. 03418E; Diploma in Purna Yoga Management: Course Code. 10677NAT / 096732C; Certificate IV in Yoga Teaching: Course Code. 10540NAT / 087664G)

Being accepted onto Byron Yoga Centre’s Certificate IV and / or Diploma course will therefore qualify you to apply for an Australian student visa.

If you are joining the 12 months Certificate IV you will be eligible for a 14 month student visa in Australia, and if you are planning to undertake the 3 year option with the addition of the 2 years Diploma your visa will be for 3 years 2 months. This allows you to stay in Australia for 2 months longer than the duration of your course.

Under the Australian student visa regulations you will be able to work for 40 hours each fortnight during each semester and unlimited hours during the holiday periods.

The cost of the Australian student visa start from AUS$575. International students applying for an Australian student visa to study with Byron Yoga Centre should allow a minimum of 8 weeks visa processing time.

In order to apply for the Australian student visa, you will need to obtain your Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) from Byron Yoga Centre for the Certificate IV in Yoga Teaching.

When undertaking both of our courses, you will need the Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) for the Certificate IV and for the Diploma. You can apply to undertake both courses on your Australian student visa as the Diploma is a direct progression of the Certificate IV, this is called Course Packaging.

You must provide evidence of Overseas Students Health Cover (OSHC) which is offered by a few different Australian companies and it must be purchased for the entire time of the visa, including the 2 months holidays at the end of the courses.

You will need to have enough funds to pay for the course fees, health cover, travel and living costs. You may be asked to provide evidence of your financial capacity with your visa application and you may need to undergo a health examination.

If you are currently in Australia on a current temporary visa you can apply from within Australia. Or you can apply from outside Australia.

The Australian student visa regulations permit you to work 40 hours each fortnight during semesters and unlimited hours during holidays. It is recommended that you do not rely on potential wages to pay for your all of your living expenses. Please be aware that you cannot work until the course has started. Before starting work you will need to obtain an Australian Tax File Number available from the Australian Tax Office.

Please check in this link more information about the work conditions for student visa holders.

If you are planning to apply for family members to accompany you (eg spouse or children), you will also need to show you have health cover and the funds to support them, as well as yourself, for the duration of the course. For children you will need to have the funds for school fees and proof of school enrolment.
